Mariam Irene Tazi-Preve (born January 29, 1961 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian political scientist and author .

Life

Tazi-Preve studied political science / gender research and Romance studies at the University of Innsbruck and also completed her doctorate in political science there. Her research work and teaching took place in Vienna from 1993 to 2013 at the Academy of Sciences , the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute and the University of Vienna . She has taught at various universities and technical colleges in Austria , Germany and the United States and is currently Adjunct Professor at the University of New Orleans .

As a (co-) author or editor, Mariam Irene Tazi-Preve has published seven books, including Motherhood in Patriarchy (2004), Fathers on the Sidelines (2007) and Family Policy: National and International Perspectives (2009). Her book The Failure of the Small Family: Capitalism, Love and the State was published in spring 2017 . With Motherhood in Patriarchy , one of her books for the English-speaking market was published in 2013.

In addition to books, Tazi-Preve publishes scientific articles, gives lectures in Europe and North America and is co-founder of the online journal Bumerang. Journal for Criticism of Patriarchy .

She has one son and lives in the USA and Austria.
