Marian Negotei took part in a junior world cup race in artificial track luge in Igls in winter 1999/2000 . In the single-seater he took 31st place out of 34 rated tobogganers in his age group and eleventh place out of 13 rated couples in the double-seater with Sebastian Constantin . He did not have any other international assignments on the artificial track. In winter 2003/2004 Negotei took part in several natural track toboggan competitions, as did his former double partner on the artificial track, Sebastian Constantin. He started at the 2004 European Championships in Hüttau at the beginning of February , but finished just under 50 seconds back as the last of the 45 rated participants. He then started in the last two World Cup races of the 2003/2004 season . In Triesenberg , he scored a third from bottom to 28th place and the final in Herzogenaurach in the overall World Cup, he finished equal on points with the Americans as second last place 32. Julien Schultz and Liechtenstein René Uhlmann 48th place among a total of 59 lugers that this winter Won world cup points. Marian Negotei then did not contest any international competitions, but was still active on the national level. In March 2010 he became the first Romanian champion in natural track luge .
