While he had only competed in three World Cup races in his premiere winter, he took part in four of the six World Cup races in the 2004/2005 season , which he finished 31st overall, and in the 2005/2006 season he started in all six for the first time World cup race. In four of them he was among the fastest 30, with 24th place at the finals in Oberperfuss, his best World Cup result and 31st in the overall World Cup. In his last World Cup season in 2006/2007 , he was able to improve - with two 25th places in Latsch and Umhausen as the best results of the season - by four places to 27th place in the overall World Cup.

At his first major event, the 2005 World Championships in Latsch , Uhlmann took 44th place out of 47 rated tobogganists. At the end of the season held European Junior Championships 2005 in Kandalakscha , however, he was eliminated after a fall. In 2006 he achieved 36th place among 43 tobogganists at the European Championships in Umhausen and 26th place among 37 participants at the Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . His last start at the 2007 World Championship in Grande Prairie , Canada, ended with a retirement in the second of the three races. Uhlmann ended his career after the 2006/2007 season.
