Marianne Grosse (born October 14, 1962 in Rendsburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Education, work and family

Grosse completed an apprenticeship as a state-certified business assistant and studied political science, modern history and English. From 1992 to 1998 she was a research assistant for Eckhart Pick, member of the Bundestag . Subsequently, until 2001 she was head of department for speeches and public relations at the Minister for Labor, Social Affairs and Health of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate , Florian Gerster . Grosse is married and has three children. She has lived in Mainz-Mombach since 2018 .

politics

In 1982 Grosse joined the SPD. In 1997 she became a member of the district assembly of the district Mainz-Bingen , where she was elected two years later to the Vice Presidents. In 2001 she became chairwoman of the SPD association Bodenheim and a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . She represented constituency 30 ( Ingelheim am Rhein ) there until February 11, 2010 and was a member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Family and Health and the Committee on Equality and the Advancement of Women.

Marianne Grosse was elected full-time alderman of the state capital Mainz on February 10, 2010 with 33 votes against 22 . Your area, Department VI, covers the areas of building, monument preservation and culture. She is the partial successor of both the honorary cultural department head Peter Krawietz (the school department went to Department IV) and the former building department head Norbert Schüler (the sports department went to Department II ( Günter Beck ) and the transport department to Department V (then Wolfgang Reichel  and from the following year Katrin Eder) During her term of office, the development plan procedure for the Mainz customs port was adopted by the statutes.

On May 17, 2017, Grosse was re-elected for another term of office as Head of Construction and Culture with 34 votes to 21.
