Marianne Jüngst , religious name Sister Veronika Jüngst († December 6, 1962 in Fritzlar ) was a German religious sister of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vinzenz von Paul , who worked in nursing in the north Hessian city ​​of Fritzlar for more than 50 years . In 1951 she was the first woman to be made an honorary citizen of the city.

Most recently in 1901 he joined the Fritzlar convent of the order; her religious name was Sister Veronica. She worked her entire adult life at the Hospital of the Holy Spirit in Fritzlar and became one of the most famous personalities in the small town. In June 1951 she was made an honorary citizen on the occasion of her golden jubilee of the order and her 50 years activity in Fritzlar.

Sr. Veronika Jüngst died on December 6, 1962 and was buried in the old cemetery of the town with her sisters who had died earlier.

At the inauguration of the second construction phase for the expansion of the hospital in 2005, a negative relief of her face, created from aluminum by the sculptor Ubbo Enninga, was revealed.
