MTN Domestic Championship 2008/09
The MTN Domestic Championship 2008/09 was the 28th staging of the National List-A cricket - Cup in South Africa . The competition was held between November 14, 2008 and January 16, 2009 between the six South African first-class franchises over 45 overs each . In the final the Titans were able to prevail against the Eagles with 8 wickets .
format
The six teams played in a group twice against each other team. There are four points for a win, two for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. A bonus point is awarded if, with a sense of purpose, one's own run number exceeds that of the opponent by 1.25 times. Furthermore, it is possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly. The first four of the group contest the semi-finals, the winners of which determine the winner of the competition in the final.
