Standard Bank Cup 2002/03

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Standard Bank Cup 2002/03 was the 22nd staging of the National List-A cricket - Cup in South Africa . The competition was held between November 8, 2002 and January 15, 2003 between the eleven South African first-class regions and a representation of Namibia over 45 overs each . In the final, the Western Province prevailed against Griqualand West with 9 wickets .

format

The twelve teams played in two groups once against each other team. There are four points for a win, two for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. A bonus point is awarded if, with a sense of purpose, one's own run number exceeds that of the opponent by 1.25 times. Furthermore, it is possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly. The first two of a group contest the semifinals, the winner of which will determine the winner of the competition in the final.
