Marianne Auenbrugger
Marianne Auenbrugger (born July 19, 1759 in Vienna ; † August 25, 1782 there ) was an Austrian pianist and composer .
Life
The daughter of the doctor Leopold Auenbrugger was highly regarded as a pianist and composer in Vienna. Together with her sister Caterina Franziska, she was a student of Joseph Haydn and Antonio Salieri . In 1780 Haydn dedicated the cycle of six piano sonatas opus 30 (Hob. XVI: 35–39 and 20) to the two sisters . When Marianne Auenbrugger died of emaciation in 1782 , Salieri had Artaria print a piano sonata she had composed at her own expense and added a memorial code for soprano and piano that he had written himself.
Auenbrugger's father was Salieri's best man in 1774 and also wrote the libretto for his German singspiel Der Rauchfangkehrer (1781).
