Marie Görres
Marie Görres (born June 28, 1808 in Heidelberg ; † May 20, 1871 ) was the youngest daughter of Joseph Görres .
After his death and the demise of her brother Guido Görres (1852) and her mother (1855) she was in charge of the business part of the historical political papers for Catholic Germany . Marie Görres obtained a selection from the “Political Writings of Her Father” (1854–1859 in 6 volumes) and began to publish his letters: Volume I “Family letters”, published in 1858 (Volume II and III. “Friend's letters” by Franz Binder, 1874). She led a lawsuit against the Prussian tax authorities for subsequent payment of her father's outstanding pension claims from the years 1817 to 1827. She printed a memorandum (Augsburg 1863).
Marie Görres also collected the material for a “Reading Book for German Youth”, which appeared in two editions in 1854 and 1859 without her name.
