The St. Mary's Cathedral ( English St. Mary's Cathedral ) in Windhoek is the cathedral of the Archbishop of Windhoek and the most important church of the Roman Catholic Church in Namibia .
The cathedral is slightly elevated from Karl-Werner-List-Strasse in Windhoek-Central through a forecourt and stairs . It was built between 1906 and 1908 using local materials and brick elements in the neo-Romanesque style. The east-facing entrance facade consists of a vestibule covered by three arches and is crowned by a column cornice and a portico. The entrance facade is delimited by two corner towers with a square floor plan, which rise around 30 meters in height. Both towers are dominated by a large round window element and have a pointed copper tent roof . The interior of the cathedral consists of a main aisle and two side aisles, with a semicircular apse facing west .
St. Mary's Cathedral is a landmark of the city of Windhoek and has been a national monument of Namibia since 1983 .
