The buildings with the postal address Marienstraße 11-13 a belong to a listed residential complex between Marienstraße and Frankenwall in Stralsund .
The four three-story brick buildings on Frankenwall were built in the 1860s according to plans by Ernst von Haselberg .
The facades of the building group are designed with yellow and red brick and kept in the neo-Gothic style. Each section of the house has three axes ; the houses no. 11 and 12 as well as no. 13 and 13 a are each mirror symmetrical.
A gate passage in the building complex Marienstraße 7-10 enables access to the complex Marienstraße 11-13 a.
The building complex is located in the core area of the “ Historic Old Towns of Stralsund and Wismar ” recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site . The buildings are summarized with the number 509 in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund .
The houses were built by the "Erich'sche Stiftung" instead of simple day laborers ' houses and initially served to accommodate old citizens and those in need.
