Marienstraße 4 (Stralsund)
The building with the postal address Marienstraße 4 is a listed building on Marienstraße in Stralsund .
The brick building was erected between 1862 and 1866 based on designs by Ernst von Haselberg .
The facade is in the neo-Gothic style. Ogival panels that span storeys characterize the view. On the narrow sides there are flat stepped gables and a pointed arch frieze under the eaves .
Originally the side staircase projections were crowned with battlements .
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 506.
The building was initially used as a second city hospital . In 1899 an operating theater was added.
