Marietta Boening

Marietta Böning (* 1971 in Hanau ) is a German-speaking author who has lived in Vienna since 1998 and is a member of the Graz authors' assembly . She published her first texts in Giessen literary magazines; From 1996–1997 she was a member of the editorial board of the Central Hessian literary magazine Shanghai Opera since it was founded by Rolf Haaser and Harald Schätzlein.

She primarily writes poetry , but also prose and in dramatic forms, literary criticism ( Literaturhaus Wien , Der Standard, derStandard.at, Wespennest, literaturkritik.de, etc.) and is also active in cultural studies (publications on contemporary poetics, questions of intertextuality and copyright in literature and in user generated content).

There are parallels to the poetry of experimental literature z. B. in the tradition of the Viennese group , which they only influenced after the first, partly experimental volume of poetry "raumweise", which also includes visual poetry. She shares their understanding of the avant-garde as a historical one, while some of it persists within the Viennese scene. It was influenced early on by the analytical philosophy of language and spirit as well as neostructuralism.

The form-pluralistic lyric has expressive images and many assonances , the first texts are often tonally shaped first (sound over meaning). In prose and drama, the author addresses the infrastructures of power.
