Marija Manakova (in Cyrillic Мария Манакова ) (born March 1, 1974 in Kazan ) is a Russian-Serbian women's grandmaster in chess .
Chess career
In 1992 she took part in the World Championships for Juniors (U18) in Duisburg. Two years later she participated in the Russian women's championship in Elista. From 1995 she fought regularly in the women's team championship of Yugoslavia, as well as in the individual championships. With the Yugoslav and Serbian women's teams , she took part in the Chess Olympiads in 1998 in Elista and 2012 in Istanbul and in the 2013 European Team Championship in Warsaw . Manakova played for BAS Belgrade , with which she took part in the women's European Club Cup four times . She won in 2002 both with the team and in the individual ranking on the fourth board, reached third place with the team in 2001 and achieved the third-best result on the fourth board in 2003.

Manakova is married to a Serb and has one son.
She advocates sexual marketing to promote the game of chess. She caused a stir in 2004 when she was freely photographed in Russian newspapers.
