Dominick McCaffrey (born September 24, 1863 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , † December 30, 1926 there ) was an American boxer who often competed against larger and heavier fighters.

On August 29, 1885, he competed in a fight under the new Queensberry rules in Cincinnati , Ohio , for the title of heavyweight world champion, against John L. Sullivan and lost after a fight of 7 rounds.

Through this fight Sullivan was first recognized boxing champion in the heavyweight division .

On January 31, 1888, he boxed against Jack Dempsey in Jersey City , but also lost after 10 rounds.

On April 14, 1890, he fought against Jim Corbett in New York and lost after 4 rounds.
