Marina Janicke (born June 19, 1954 in Berlin , after he married Höhne ) is a former German diver who won two bronze medals for the GDR at the 1972 Olympic Games .

Under the trainer Olga Jensch-Jordan , herself a world class jumper in the 1930s, Marina Janicke won seven Spartakiad competitions from 1966 to 1970 . Under coach Gerd Völker, she achieved her breakthrough at TSC Berlin in 1970 when she won two silver medals at the European Championships in Barcelona. In jumping she was defeated by her teammate Heidi Becker , Milena Duchková from Czechoslovakia won from the tower . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, the American Micki King won the artificial jumping ahead of the Swede Ulrika Knape , three points behind the Swede Janicke won her first bronze medal. From the tower, Knape won ahead of Duchková and Janicke. In 1973 at the first World Championships in Belgrade, Janicke won bronze from the 3-meter board behind her team- mates Christa Köhler and Ulrika Knape.

Marina Janicke studied biology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and received her doctorate in 1985. The molecular biologist works as Marina Höhne at the Robert Koch Institute of the Federal Government.

For her successes at the Olympic Games in Munich, she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze in 1972.
