"Leandermal" (2007)

For her work, which she calls "Biomorphic Abstractions", Schreiber uses a wide variety of natural and artificial materials, from various woods to wire and plastic beads to polyester. With strong colors, she creates sculptures that at first glance can only be recognized by the titles, whereby the viewer still has a lot of room for interpretation. The objects have names such as sea valley depth , Venus belt , reservoir water , coral , pore sponge , deep sea cactus , space blooms or water pipes (a five-part water object).

Reviews

Art critics write about the wealth of forms in Schreiber's sculptures:

“Depending on the perspective, we perceive these“ bodies ”differently. The viewer can identify individual elements, but others remain mysterious. This may also apply to the respective works as a whole. The concept of abstraction thus takes on a different content. Because the sculptures are real, they are realistic models of themselves. "

- Thomas Wulffen

"Color and shape are only there to point out diversity and possibility, a variance that is permanently beyond our control."

- Ralf F. Hartman, Berlin
