Maryna Skolota ( Ukrainian Марина Сколота ; born November 5, 1963 in the Krasnoyarsk Territory ) is a former Ukrainian biathlete .

Maryna Skolota lives in Sumy and works as an electrician . She started biathlon in 1989. After the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991 , she moved to the national squad of the new state of Ukraine. At the start of the 1992/93 season she made her debut in the World Cup and was 29th of an individual. She had her most successful season in 1993/94 . In Ruhpolding , she reached eighth place in the sprint for the first time and improved the result a little later in Antholz to sixth place in the sprint. The high point of Skolota's career was the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . There she was 33rd of the sprint and with Walentyna Zerbe-Nessina , Olena Petrowa and Olena Subrylowa fifth in the season. The Ukrainian competed in her last World Cup races in 1995 . In 1998 she came to Osrblie at the Summer Biathlon World Championships again for an international championship and finished 12th in both the sprint and the pursuit race.
