Marina Vladimirovna Schainowa ( Russian Мари́на Влади́мировна Ша́инова ; born March 14, 1986 in Konokowo , Krasnodar region , Russia ) is a Russian weightlifter .

Career

Shainova was doped at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and thus sneaked the silver medal with 227 kg in the weight class up to 58 kg. For Russia she also won the bronze medal at the 2005 World Cup with 233 kg and the silver medal at the 2007 World Cup with 237 kg. There are also two gold medals that she won at the 2006 and 2007 European Championships.

Repeat doping offender

Schainowa was banned from the International Weightlifting Federation (IMF) from April 11, 2013 to April 11, 2015 for doping (stanozolol). The titles won at the 2013 European Championships in Tirana were stripped of her. On August 31, 2016, she was subsequently stripped of the silver medal from the 2008 Summer Olympics due to a positive doping test .
