Marine Division
A naval division is a large unit of the navy that is deployed ashore or amphibious . The German Navy designated two support groups as naval divisions .

The Imperial Navy established the following naval divisions during the First World War:
After the First World War , the three naval brigades
- 1st Marine Brigade ( Colonel Emmo von Roden ) (1st and 2nd Marine Regiment )
- 2nd Marine Brigade ( Korvettenkapitän Hermann Ehrhardt ) (3rd and 4th Marine Regiment)
- 3rd Marine Brigade (Korvettenkapitän Wilfried von Loewenfeld ) (5th and 6th Marine Regiment and Storm Battalion Arnauld de la Perière )
in April 1919 merged with the Schutztruppen - Regiment No. 1 and the Field Artillery Regiment Osiander to form the Marine Division. The division was led by Major General Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck . Together with the Guard Cavalry Rifle Division , it was subordinate to the Guard Cavalry Rifle Corps .
The Marine Division was involved in the Kapp Putsch , as a result of which it was dissolved.
