The Marinelli Head is a 87 m high headland on the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . At the southeastern base of Hobbs Ridge , it marks the southern limit of the confluence of the Blue Glacier in McMurdo Sound, 11.7 km south of The Strand Moraines .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the headland in 2011 after Roberta L. Marinelli, who held a leading position in research programs for the National Science Foundation between 1997 and 2011 as the representative of this authority on several occasions at McMurdo Station and Palmer Station .
