Mario Agnes

Mario Agnes (born December 6, 1931 in Serino ; † May 9, 2018 in Rome ) was an Italian historian and journalist .

Agnes was a lecturer in the history of Christianity at the Universities of Cassino and Rome . From 1973 to 1980 he was President of the Catholic Action in Italy ( Azione Cattolica Italiana ).

From September 1982 to October 2007 he was director of L'Osservatore Romano .
