Priscilla Barnes (born December 7, 1958 in Fort Dix , New Jersey ) is an American actress .

Life

Barnes was born on the Fort Dix military base, the daughter of a United States Air Force officer. Because of her father's transfers, she grew up in different places before the family settled in California . After finishing school, she moved to San Diego to work as a dancer . However, when she fell badly and broke her leg while performing at the Hollywood Bowl , she gave up dancing. She moved to Los Angeles , where she worked in a nightclub and took acting classes on the side.

In 1975 she had her first small speaking role in the crime series Columbo . The following year she undressed under the pseudonym Joann Witty for the US edition of the Penthouse . In 1986, she sued the magazine for republishing the pictures under her real name after Barnes became known as an actress. She had guest roles on various television series in the late 1970s, including Detective Rockford - Call Enough and Starsky & Hutch . In 1978 she played one of the leading roles in the series The American Girls , which was discontinued after seven episodes.

In 1981, after the end of the fifth season , Suzanne Somers left the hit sitcom Jack of Hearts with two women . Barnes played the role of Terri Alden alongside John Ritter until the series was discontinued after the eighth season , through which she also gained notoriety in Germany. In 1987 she played the role of Hildy Granger in the pilot for the series She's the Sheriff . In the following two seasons of the series, her role was taken over by Suzanne Somers. In addition to her many television roles, Barnes also starred in numerous feature films, including James Bond 007 - License To Kill , Kevin Smith ' Mallrats , Sean Penn's Crossing Guard - It Happened On The Open Road, and Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects .

Barnes has been married to actor Ted Monte since 2003 .
