In the late 1950s, a murderer and grave robber ruled rural Wisconsin . The tranquil area has been shaken by this series of crimes. Behind the crimes lies a lonely man whose mental state has grown closer and closer to madness. One of the causes is the man's late mother, who raised her son with horror stories from the Bible . It also taught him that all women are despicable and sinful. When 58-year-old Bernice Worden is kidnapped, police search the sick man, Ed Gein's farmhouse, and find Worden's mutilated body there. In addition, 15 other corpses or their parts are discovered. The main part of the plot is the kidnapping and murder of Vera Mason, the mother of the deputy sheriff Bobby Mason.
