Mario Fargetta [farˈdʒet-ta] (born July 19, 1962 in Lissone ), also known by his project name Get Far (also Get-Far ), is an Italian dance and house DJ and producer.

biography

Fargetta started as a DJ as early as the 1970s, and since he was 24, he has had his own shows on the Milan-based radio station Radio DeeJay . In the 1990s he successfully produced his own singles under the name Fargetta . With Music , The Music Is Movin ' and Your Love , he had several hits in 1992 and 1993, which not only made it into the charts in his home country.

The Italian had his greatest successes in the late 1990s when he teamed up with Alex Farolfi under the name The Tamperer . In addition there were Giuliano Saglio and the singer Maya Days. With Feel It they had a big international hit in 1998, which reached number 1 in Great Britain and Ireland and the top 10 in many other countries. With If You Buy This Record and Hammer to the Heart , two more UK top 10 hits followed.

In addition to producing his own singles, Fargetta is also a sought-after remixer, especially in the Italian music scene, where he has worked for Jovanotti , Laura Pausini , Gianna Nannini , Gigi D'Alessio and Raf , among others . He also created a dance version of their hit Boys & Girls for Blur . From the mid-1990s he used the pseudonym Get Far , which also became his new project name in the late 2000s.

In 2007 he released the single Shining Star as Get Far with Sagi Rei as singer. It became another international hit and reached number 17 on the charts in France. In 2010 the single The Radio followed , which reached number 1 in the Czech charts .

Fargetta often builds his songs on well-known pop songs, which are clearly retained. Music is based on the hit of the same name by John Miles , the Tamperer hit Feel It is a dance version of Jackson's hit Can You Feel It and the successor If You Buy This Record contains excerpts from Madonna's Material Girl . The Radio is based on a melody by his compatriot Angelo Branduardi from the song Il giocatore di biliardo .
