Mario Tolkmitt (born October 30, 1970 ) is a former German soccer player . In 1993 he won the DFB Cup with Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

Career

Mario Tolkmitt's career began at Dynamo Pasewalk. He later moved to BFC Dynamo (renamed FC Berlin in 1990). He made his debut in the GDR league on March 24, 1990. Before he was awarded to Bergmann-Borsig Berlin in the fall of 1990, he played five league games. For Bergmann-Borsig he played 17 times in the GDR league (four goals) until the end of the 1990/91 season , after which he returned to FC Berlin, which started in the third-class NOFV league after the GDR leagues were dissolved.

In 1992 he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for a fee of DM 500,000 , where he was never able to fight for a long-term regular position. In 1993 he won the DFB Cup with the "Werkself" (1-0 against the amateurs from Hertha BSC ). In the final he was not on the field, but in three games before. In the winter break of 1996/97 he went to Fortuna Düsseldorf, which was threatened with relegation . Relegation was ultimately not achieved, Tolkmitt played 13 times in the second half for Fortuna. 1997/98 he came to four second division games and then ended his career.
