Marion Maruska (born December 15, 1972 in Mödling ) is a former Austrian tennis player .

Career

Marion Maruska played on the WTA Tour from 1988 to 2001 . She reached her highest position in the individual tennis world rankings on October 6, 1997 with rank 50. Maruska won a tournament in Auckland (New Zealand) in 1996 on the WTA Tour . Her final opponent was the Austrian Judith Wiesner-Floimair , who she defeated 6: 3, 6: 1. At the ITF level, she won four individual tournaments and three doubles competitions.

In 1991 and 2002 she played a total of eight times for Austria in the Fed Cup . Maruska won two and lost six matches. She ended her active career in 2001.

On December 2nd, 2010 it was announced that she will work at ÖTV as a coordinator for the Südstadt Federal Training Center. She completed a sports science degree at the University of Vienna . Marion Maruska has two children.
