Marion Weber (born May 19, 1959 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German figure skater. During her active time she started for the German Democratic Republic and belonged to the SC Karl-Marx-Stadt . She took part in the 1976 Winter Olympics for the GDR .

Career

Between 1974 and 1978 Marion Weber won a total of two silver and two bronze medals at the GDR championships in figure skating . She could never win a GDR championship title. After she finished ninth at the 1974 European Championships in Zagreb , she took part in the 1974 World Championships in Munich at the age of 14 and finished tenth when her compatriot Christine Errath won , and seventh a year later at the 1975 European Championships in Copenhagen Place and at the 1975 World Championships in Colorado Springs again tenth place.

Although she did not finish the competition at the 1976 European Championships in Geneva, she was nominated by the GDR National Olympic Committee together with Christine Errath  and Anett Pötzsch for the women's figure skating competition at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . She finished the competition in eleventh place. A year later she just missed a medal when her teammate Anett Pötzsch won in fourth at the 1977 European Championships in Helsinki and ninth place at the 1977 World Championships in Tokyo .

During her active career she was trained by Jutta Müller in Karl-Marx-Stadt .
