Marius Kastening (born April 10, 1993 ) is a German handball player . He plays in the back center and is currently under contract with Handball Hannover-Burgwedel in the 3rd division .
Career
Marius Kastening started playing handball at HSG Schaumburg Nord. As a teenager he moved to TSV Hannover-Burgdorf , where he matured to become a youth national player. In 2011 he followed the call of Frank Carstens , who led TSV Hannover-Burgdorf into the Bundesliga in 2010 , and moved to SC Magdeburg . Kastening played there primarily for the 2nd team in the 3rd League East , but also made three Bundesliga appearances in the 2012/13 season.
For the 2013/14 season, Kastening moved to the second division TSV Altenholz , who was trained by Klaus-Dieter Petersen . At the beginning of 2014, however, he left the club again to join the third division HF Springe . With this team he celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2014/15 season under coach Sven Lakenmacher .
After the HF Springe had a failed start in the 2015/16 season, Kastening terminated his contract retrospectively at the beginning of 2016 and switched to league rivals TSG Friesenheim . In total, he scored 68 goals across clubs in that season.
In the 2016/17 season, Marius Kastening played for the second division club TuS Ferndorf . From the 9th to the 17th match day he was not available to his team due to a torn ligament and a bone splinter. He only got 41 goals this season.
For the 2017/18 season, Kastening joined the squad of the ambitious Westphalian upper division club TSG Altenhagen-Heepen , but they separated from him after only one year. He then signed a contract with handball Hannover-Burgwedel .
Since January 2019 he has formed the player- coach trio together with captain Kay Behnke and Nenad Bilbija .
