Marius Steinert (born September 19, 1984 in Kaufbeuren ) is a German ice hockey player (striker) who has played for the second division club EHC Munich since 2006 . In the current 2008/2009 season, Steinert has a so-called standby contract that enables him to pursue his time-consuming dental studies in addition to sports.

Career

Steinert began his career with the youngsters at ESV Kaufbeuren . There he went through all the junior teams and became German champion both with the school team in 1999 and with the juniors in 2005. In the 2005/06 season Steinert got his chance in the 2nd Bundesliga and played a solid first Bundesliga season in which he managed to stay up with ESV Kaufbeuren.

For the 2006/07 season Steinert moved to Munich to the EHC Munich , with whom he reached the playoff semi-finals in the same season. The 1.95 m tall striker, whose trademark is his full visor, is currently wearing the number 13 for the team of EHC coach Pat Cortina.
