Mark Romano Birighitti (born April 17, 1991 in Perth ) is an Australian football goalkeeper .

Career

Birighitti played for the Perth SC reserve team at the age of 15 before joining the National Training Center of the Western Australia Football Association in 2007. After a stay at the Australian Institute of Sport , he signed a two-year contract with Adelaide United for the 2008/09 season . When goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic was injured on Matchday 8, Birighitti made his professional debut in a 1-0 win over Queensland Roar. After two more appearances on the following game days, he was also in the final second leg of the AFC Champions League 2008 on November 12 - in a 2-0 draw against Gamba Osaka . An ankle injury sustained while training at the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup brought the season to an early end. In the 2009/10 season he stayed behind Galekovic without a competitive game.
