Mark Burton (born 1960 in the United Kingdom ) is a British screenwriter and director. As one of the two directors of the film Shaun the Sheep - The Film , he was nominated for the Best Animated Feature Film category at the 2016 Academy Awards.

Life

Before Shaun the Sheep - The Film , Mark Burton was primarily active as a screenwriter and mostly worked on teamwork with John O'Farrell. At first they wrote for the radio. until they came to the sarcastic political satire Spitting Image in 1988 , where they quickly became the regular writers of the 1984-1996 show. Her other works included the television series Room 101 (1995–1997) and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (1997–1998). They later worked with Aardman Animations and developed dialogues for Chicken Run (2000). Then the two parted ways.

Mark Burton worked on Madagascar (2005), Wallace & Gromit - On the Hunt for the Giant Rabbit (2005) and Gnomeo and Juliet , among others . His first directorial work was Shaun the Sheep - The Film he made with Richard Starzak . The film was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Animated Feature Film in 2016 , but lost everything .
