Mark Heap
Mark Heap (born May 13, 1957 in Kodaikanal , India ) is a British actor . He was born in India in 1957 to a British father and American mother. He is best known for his roles in various comedy series on the BBC and Channel 4 .
Life
In England in the 1980s, Heap was part of the street theater duo The Two Marks , which won the Time Out 1987 Street Entertainer of the year award for their comedic juggling program . In 1983 he appeared in front of the camera with his theater troupe for the first time in the film Martin Luther, Heretic .
In 1994, Heap began his real work on radio and television. He was a spokesperson for the comedy show Blue Jam on BBC Radio 1 from 1997 to 1999 and also took on several roles on its television version Jam in 2000. In the animated series Eric in Stress , he spoke the main role from 1998. In the same year he began work with Simon Pegg and Kevin Eldon on the sketch comedy Big Train , for which he also worked as a writer. A second season was produced in 2002. Heap also appeared in regular supporting roles in the series Spaced , Brass Eye and Happiness .
Since 2002, Heap has also appeared regularly in British cinema productions such as About a Boy or: The Day of the Dead Duck and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , and from 2004 to 2006 he played the role of Dr. in the hospital comedy Green Wing. Alan Statham. Since 2008 he has appeared as Thomas Brown in the historical drama series Lark Rise to Candlefold , which is based on the autobiography of the same name by the author Flora Thompson .
