Mark Mückenheim

Mark Mückenheim (born May 12, 1970 in Aachen ) is a German architect .

Mark Mückenheim received his Master of Architecture from the Parsons School of Design in New York in 1999 with a scholarship from the Fulbright Commission . After working for two years in New York, Los Angeles and London, he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service ( DAAD) for postgraduate studies at the Bartlett School of Architecture - University College in London , where he obtained his Graduate Diploma in Architecture in 2001.

Mark Mückenheim is the founder of the urban environments architects office , which has been based in Düsseldorf since 2001.

After teaching at the Parsons School of Design in New York and the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles , he first worked as a research assistant in the Integrated Design department at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and, from 2002 to 2008, was an artistic-scientific assistant at the Department of Building Science and Design by Prof. Klaus Kada at RWTH Aachen University . In 2004 Mark Mückenheim received the MACEF design award in Milan and in 2005 the sponsorship award from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for young artists in the field of architecture.

In 2007 Mark Mückenheim was appointed to the Association of German Architects BDA, and in 2008 he founded Frama Architects BDA . His office's projects attracted international attention in numerous publications and exhibitions, including the book publications “1000x European Architecture”, “taschen's 1000 favorite websites” and “Contemporary Prefab Houses” as well as articles in numerous magazines and journals. His projects were u. a. in the German Architecture Center (DAZ) in Berlin, in the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne, in the Maison de l'Architecture et de la Ville in Lille as well as at the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Arnold and Sheila Aronson Galleries, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center in New York shown.

After further teaching activities at universities in Germany and abroad, including the Architectural Association and the Royal College of Art in London, the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Houston in Texas, Mark Mückenheim held a visiting professorship at the chair for from 2009 to 2012 Basics of design and representation at the architecture faculty of the Technical University of Munich .
