Mark Nees

Mark Nees (born July 2, 1974 in Darmstadt ) is a former German basketball player .

Player career

Nees, who spent a year at a school in Santa Barbara (US state California ) as a teenager , moved from BC Darmstadt to the second division TV Langen in 1993 . There he was promoted at the local part-time boarding school. Tim Nees' younger brother studied sports management at the University of San Francisco in the USA from 1994 , and the 2.13 meter indoor player played 81 appearances for their university team between 1995 and 1998. He got an average of 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per encounter.

In the 1998/99 season and parts of the 1999/2000 season Nees was under contract with the Greek first division club Aris Thessaloniki , with the team he was also represented in the European Cup. In the second half of the 1999/2000 season he strengthened the second division Oldenburger TB in Germany , with whom he was promoted  to the basketball Bundesliga under the direction of coach Ivan Vojtko . After the success he initially left the club, played for SSV Ulm , but went back to Oldenburg during the 2000/2001 season. He wore the colors of the OTB in 18 Bundesliga games (3.8 points, 4.2 rebounds / game).

For the 2001/02 season Nees joined the second division BG Ludwigsburg . He won the championship title with Ludwigsburg in the southern season of the 2nd basketball league , after the end of the 01/02 season he parted ways with the team.

Nees moved to the United States after the player time and worked there in the San Francisco area .
