Mark Pivarunas

Mark Anthony Pivarunas (born October 31, 1958 in Chicago ) is Bishop and Superior General of the Vatican- independent ancient ritualist Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen ( Congregatio Mariae Reginae Immaculatae , CMRI) and a leading figure of sedevacantism in the USA.

Pivarunas joined the CMRI in 1974. In 1984 he belonged to the faction of the congregation that ousted the previous Superior General, Bishop Francis Schuckardt , from office and congregation. He was ordained a priest on April 23, 1985 by independent Catholic Bishop George Musey . In 1989 he was elected Superior General of the CMRI and ordained bishop on September 24, 1991 on Mount Saint Michael in Spokane, Washington, by the sedevacantist Bishop Moisés Carmona from Mexico.

Pivarunas resides in Omaha , Nebraska, and leads the Mater Dei seminary of his congregation there. For his part, he has ordained two bishops so far, in 1993 the American Daniel Dolan and in 1999 the Mexican Martín Dávila Gándara .

In Germany , Privarunas works with the Catholic Faith Working Group : He comes to give confirmation and consecrates new German priests who are studying in his seminary.
