Moisés Carmona y Rivera (born October 31, 1912 in Quechultenango , Mexico ; † November 1, 1991 ) was a sedisvakantist Catholic bishop in Acapulco in the succession of Pierre Martin Ngô Đình Thục .

Life

Moisés Carmona y Rivera was ordained a priest in 1939 by Bishop Leopoldo Díaz y Escudero (1880–1955) for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Chilapa (Mexico) . After the Second Vatican Council he refused to implement the enacted reforms in his parish in Acapulco and took the view that the Second Vatican Council had introduced a new religion that had nothing to do with true Catholic teaching. Pope Paul VI be therefore not a true Pope and the Holy See consequently orphaned ( Sedisvakantismus ).

Moisés Carmona y Rivera was then removed from his office as pastor and excommunicated on April 30, 1977 by the then Bishop Rafael Bello Ruiz of Acapulco , but was able to assert himself in office due to the Mexican church legislation and the support of over two thousand believers in his parish and co-founded Joaquín Sáenz y Arriaga and the ex- Mercedarian Adolfo Zamora Hernández († May 3, 1987) formed the Union Catolica Trento (UCT), from which today's “Sociedad Sacerdotal Trento” emerged.

After mediation by the German sedevacantist Eberhard Heller, Carmona and Zamora were ordained bishop on October 17, 1981 in Toulon (France) by the already excommunicated Pierre Martin Ngô Đình Thục , titular archbishop of Bulla Regia , in front of only two witnesses and then by the Vatican excommunicated. Camora worked as bishop in Acapulco, Mexico, from 1981 to 1991, founded his own seminary there and in turn consecrated the Mexican priests Benigno Bravo († 1985) and Roberto Martinez, the US priests George Musey and Mark Pivarunas and in 1991 sub conditione den in Japan made German Peter Hillebrand bishops.

On May 26, 1983, Carmona, Zamora and Ngo Dinh Thuc jointly published a declaration in which they announced the vacancy of the papal cathedra after Pius XII. claimed that Paul VI. The renewed celebration of Mass is invalid, the decree of the Second Vatican Council on religious freedom declared heretical and the bishops of the Roman Catholic Church declared apostates and schismatics.

Moisés Carmona y Rivera died on November 1, 1991 as a result of a car accident in Mexico.
