Mark Stevens (actually Richard William Stevens , born September 13, 1916 in Cleveland , Ohio , † September 15, 1994 in Majores , Spain ) was an American actor and film director .

Life

After his first professional experience as a radio announcer and started studying art (he wanted to be a painter), Stevens got a studio contract with Warner Brothers in 1943 . He played his first supporting roles as Stephen Richards ; then he settled on his more familiar name. Initially used in some films in the noir series, it was also seen in musicals and later westerns. When his screen career stagnated, he was seen from 1954 to 1956 in the series Big Town on television, which he also produced; he was also frequently involved in this medium in the following years. In 1953 he played in "Mid-Summer" on Broadway.

Since the mid-1960s, Stevens lived in Spain and took less role offers; until 1966 in European-produced feature films, since the early 1980s, after a break for years, guest roles in American television series again. Occasionally, Stevens has also directed films in which he has the lead role.
