action

The famous American neurosurgeon Dr. After three decades of absence, David Foster returns to Barcelona, accompanied by his wife Kathy, to attend an international medical conference. But there is also another, more private reason for his return: Foster once served as a young doctor in the international brigades in the late 1930s during the Spanish Civil War . David also wants to use his stay in Spain to find his former love Maria again, who back then was a nurse who cared for the wounded. However, David only comes across Maria's daughter, who is also called Maria, and who has dedicated herself entirely to the flamenco dance. A passionate attraction soon develops between David and the young woman. The path of memories back into the past is not without pain for Foster.

Reviews

"One of the few attempts at a critical analysis of the Spanish reality that came about in the 1960s."

- Carlos Aguilar: Guia del video-cine, p. 420, 4th edition. Madrid 1992

“Camino takes up the subject of civil war again, albeit from a situation that arises during the forced development policy; the film was able to be released despite the usual censorship problems. "
