Mark Andrew Watson (born February 13, 1980 in Bristol , England ) is an English comedian and author.

Life

Watson's parents are from Wales . He has two younger twin sisters and one brother. While attending school in Bristol, he already won the title Gabbler of the Year , such as Babbler of the Year . He then went to Cambridge to Queens' College , where he graduated with honors in English. During his studies he was a member of the Cambridge University Footlights Dramatic Club at the same time as Tim Key and Dan Stevens .

At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2001, Watson was nominated for Best Newcomer for the Perrier Comedy Awards , where he directed a revue of Footlights with Tim Key . In the following years he appeared as a comedian several times at the Fringe Festival, very often showed his skills in expressing the Welsh dialect and performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2008 . In 2012 Fringe appeared on two separate occasions at the Edinburgh Festival , wrote the lyrics and directed the comedy show The Hotel .

Watson has had his own television shows on the BBC and ITV and appeared as a narrator on Armando Iannucci's Time Trumpet series . He had other guest appearances in Australia and New Zealand . In 2009 he presented the New Musical Express (NME Awards) prizes at the Brixton Academy in London . In 2012 he presented six episodes of a Mad Bad Ad Show on Channel 4 , the content of which was based on advertising.

Watson is married. The couple has had a son since 2010 and a daughter since 2014. Best man was Tim Key. Watson is a supporter of Bristol City Football Club , whose games he watched around the stadium as often as possible.
