Marko Ilešič

Marko Ilešič (* 1947 ) is a Slovenian lawyer and judge at the European Court of Justice .

Live and act

After studying law and its state exams Ilešič was from the University of Ljubljana Dr. iur. PhD . He then specialized in comparative law as part of postgraduate studies at the Universities of Strasbourg and Coimbra . After returning to Slovenia , he became professor of civil law, commercial law and private international law at the University of Ljubljana . From 1995 he was deputy and from 2001 to 2004 dean of the law faculty of the University of Ljubljana. From 1975 to 1986 he was also President of the Chamber of Labor at the Ljubljana Labor Court and, from 1978, also President of the Sports Court of Slovenia. He was also a referee at the Paris International Chamber of Commerce and a judge on the Appeals Panel of UEFA and FIFA . He has been a judge at the European Court of Justice since May 11, 2004 .
