Marko Zdralek (born December 8, 1973 in Bad Griesbach im Rottal ) is a German composer and musicologist .

Life

education

After graduating from St. Gotthard Gymnasium in Niederalteich (Absolvia 1993), he studied music for teaching at grammar schools at the State University of Music in Munich , which he graduated with the first state examination in 2001. He also studied musicology, philosophy and German at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 1998 he expanded his studies to include the subject "Composition" at the State University of Music in Würzburg in the composition class of Heinz Winbeck .

Teaching

Zdralek taught music theory, analysis and music history at the music academies in Würzburg , Nuremberg and the Regensburg Music School. He currently teaches at the Academy for Music in Darmstadt and has been a professor at the University of Protestant Church Music in Bayreuth since 2010 .

Compositions

As a composer he deals with new forms of music theater (e.g. music and dance theater “Sansara” (2002), “monumentum aquae” (2006)). In addition, the idea of ​​the work cycle plays an important role at Zdralek, for example the five-part project “Terra deserta”.

Awards
