Architecture and history
The southern part of Marktstrasse between Kanzleistrasse and Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Strasse was owned by the Zeisberg family at the beginning of the 20th century and only two buildings were built on. In 1904, the buildings, including the old Graflich-Stolberg chancellery, were torn down and rebuilding began. In the period up to 1911, the buildings along the street were built, including the Marktstraße 28 building.
The three-storey residential and commercial building was built in a massive Art Nouveau style. In front of the second upper floor and the attic is a half- timbered bay window , at its lower end there is a figural decoration in the plaster. Under the large window on the street front is a transverse stucco picture with flowers and ornaments. The top floor of the building is also designed as an Art Nouveau half-timbered structure.
In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 25169.
