Markus Egger (born January 15, 1990 ) is an Austrian football player . The goalkeeper plays for the Austrian Bundesliga club FC Wacker Innsbruck .

Athletic career

Egger began his career in 1996 in the youth team of the WSG Wattens , where he was brought into the first team in 2008 after 12 years. The goalkeeper made his debut in the Regionalliga West on May 21, 2008 against FC Kufstein . Egger kept his box clean and the Wattener won 2-0 in Kufstein . In the following season he came on another seven missions before he matured into a regular player in the 2009/10 season. This season he was able to score an additional goal in the first championship game. After another season as a regular goalkeeper, he moved to Bundesliga club FC Wacker Innsbruck in July 2011 .

There he was initially used by the amateurs, again in the Regionalliga West. After an injury to the regular one-goal keeper Szabolcs Sáfár , he came to two Bundesliga appearances. Egger made his debut in the top Austrian division on August 27, 2011 against SV Mattersburg , when he came on for Hungary in the third minute . The game ended 1-1. Then he came to another use against SV Ried , where Egger had to reach behind him five times.
