Markus Fäh

Markus Fäh (born February 26, 1958 in Kilchberg in the canton of Zurich ) is a Swiss psychoanalyst and author.

Life

Fäh studied clinical psychology , psychopathology and sociology at the University of Zurich . He is a member of the International Psychoanalytic Association founded by Sigmund Freud , training analyst of the Swiss Society for Psychoanalysis, lecturer, training analyst and trainer at the Freud Institute Zurich , the Psychoanalytic Seminar Zurich, the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna and the Psychoanalytic Seminar Innsbruck . He was also a visiting professor and trainer at psychoanalytic institutes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Minsk and Tehran. From 1993 to 2003 he was President of the Swiss Psychotherapist Association and from 2003 to 2008 President of the European Confederation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (ECCP).

In scientific publications he deals with the theory and practice of psychoanalysis, especially the Oedipus complex and adolescence, psychotherapy and health research and questions of psychoanalytic practice. He is known to a wider audience for his popular non-fiction books on questions of health, love and couple relationships, as well as questions of masculinity and femininity. He is committed to the general understanding of psychoanalysis, u. a. in the Cinépassion project in Zurich, in which films are psychoanalytically commented on and discussed with the audience.

Fa lives and works in Zurich . He runs his own practice as a psychoanalyst, couples therapist , supervisor and coach.
