Markus Guggemos (born March 9, 1982 in Füssen ) is a former German ice hockey player who could be used both as a striker and as a defender .

Career

He came to ice hockey at the age of two and a half and played in the youth team at EV Füssen . After playing for the European Bauer Pioniers youth team in Canada, he moved to Mannheim for the 1999/00 season, where he played in the Oberliga Nord for the young eagles Mannheim and the youth team of the Mannheim ERC. In the summer of 2000 he moved to the DEL to the Kassel Huskies , from which he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga in Wolfsburg to the EHC Wolfsburg in the summer of 2002 . With Wolfsburg he was promoted to the DEL 2004/05 . After Wolfsburg was excluded from the DEL in summer 2005, he moved to the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga for ESC Moskitos Essen in the 2005/06 season . He also played for Essen in the 2006/07 season before moving back to Wolfsburg in the middle of the season. In spring 2007, Guggemos signed a contract with the relegated Dresdner Eislöwen, where he was used both as a striker and as a defender during the 2007/08 season. At the end of the season, the Eislöwen won the ice hockey league and Guggemos rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Eislöwen. After the 2008/09 season his contract expired and Guggemos received no new contract offer. He then signed with Deggendorf Fire and played in the league from the 2009/10 season . After the 2011/12 season he ended his career due to his professional situation.

Achievements and Awards

His greatest sporting successes were two promotions: he played with the German U20 national team in the B World Cup and with Wolfsburg he was promoted to the DEL . In 2008 he made promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Dresdner Eislöwen.
