Markus Heusser

Markus Heusser (* 1972 ) is a Swiss primary school teacher , musician , composer , arranger , librettist , author of children's musicals and founder and longstanding director of Adonia Germany .

Life

Markus Heusser grew up in Switzerland. In June 1993 he received the teacher license from the Protestant Middle School Schiers and then worked as a primary school teacher. He toured Switzerland for over seven years with his “HeusserBand” and released three albums: “So winei bin - Markus Heusser”, “S'Bescht vo mim Länke” and “Flüg dervo”. From 1989 he was initially an honorary pianist in the Adonia Youth Orchestra and from 1996 employed by Adonia Switzerland. There he met Markus Hottiger , the founder of the Swiss youth organization Adonia. As early as 1994 he wrote all the songs for the touring program in pleasant dialect pop, produced by David Plüss .

In 2001, together with his wife, he founded the German offshoot of the Swiss idea, which now has 4,000 young people and children every year in 60 musical camps. They perform the Adonia musicals in 200 performances nationwide in front of around 90,000 visitors. He headed “Adonia Deutschland” until 2020, but is still on its board. The focus of his work was on his compositions of the Bible musicals. A 20-person full-time team organizes the musical camps for young people. The musicals are in Swiss German, but are performed in High German after they have been translated by a German publisher.

From October 2020 he will be part of the management team in the mission center of the Liebenzeller Mission in Bad Liebenzell.

Markus Heusser is married to Claudia (née Malär), the authorized signatory of Adonia Verlag, and lives with his family in Karlsruhe .
