Markus Theodor Hofmann (* 1963 in Fulda ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Hofmann is the son of an architect and a seamstress and has three older sisters. He is married and has a grown daughter. Professionally, he worked as marketing manager at the now closed Langer department store in Schlüchtern and then at the Association for Economic and Tourism (WITO) in Schlüchtern.

In 2012 Hofmann ran as a non-party candidate in the mayor election in Flieden at the suggestion of the SPD . After joining Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , in 2015 he was one of the founding members of the Flieden local association of the Greens. In the 2016 local elections , Hofmann was elected to the Flieden municipal council. In the following year he took over the chairmanship of the Greens.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2018 , in which Hofmann stood as a candidate in constituency 15 (Fulda West / Rhön) , he moved into the Hessian state parliament over number 26 on the state list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .
