Markus Obernosterer (born April 14, 1990 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian football player . He is currently under contract with the Stuttgarter Kickers in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg .

Career

society

Obernosterer began his career in the youth of SV Völs. From 2001 he ran for the Innsbruck AC , before he was accepted into the federal youth center in Tyrol in 2005. There he developed into one of the best players of his year and scored 23 goals in 62 games for the BNZ.

In the winter of 2008, at the age of seventeen, he made his debut for FC Wacker Innsbruck, which is close to BNZ, during the Salzburg Indoor Cup .

In June 2008 he signed his first professional contract with Wacker, which he signed with Fabian Koch from the BNZ. After he had then completed the entire preparation for the Tyrolean season and was presented as a hope for the future in midfield, he suffered a serious injury shortly before the start of the season. As a moped passenger, he was involved in an accident in which he suffered a severe knee joint contusion and a torn cruciate ligament. As a result, he failed the entire first half of the 2008/09 season due to injury.

On March 28, 2009 he celebrated his long-awaited debut in the first division , during the 1: 2 away win against DSV Leoben . He came into play in the 58th minute for Samuel Koejoe . In total, he completed eleven league games without scoring by the end of the season, only one of which over the full 90 minutes.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he suffered another injury, whereupon he lost the internal duel for a regular place against Thomas Löffler . As a result, he completed 20 season games for Wacker, only three of them from the start. With the club he celebrated the championship title in the Austrian First League at the end of the season with two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling and thus rose with the team to the Bundesliga.

During the final phase of the season in May 2010, he completed a trial training session at the German second division Energie Cottbus at the behest of the club management . This caused a disagreement between the club and the sports management, in the form of sports director Oliver Prudlo and coach Walter Kogler , who vetoed the absence of the player. Obernosterer was used in a test match for Cottbus and scored a goal. As a result, however, it was sent back due to the low test possibilities, whereupon the change seemed to have failed. At the beginning of June, the player's contract extension until 2011 with the option of 2 more years was announced, before a surprising statement by the club was published on June 23, 2010, in which it was announced that the player would be released for a change for financial reasons. Even coach Kogler was surprised and said he had been instructed not to plan with Obernosterer anymore. No reason was given to him. Five days later it was announced that Obernosterer would again be in trial training at Cottbus. On July 20, 2010, Cottbus announced the Tyrolean's loan commitment. After he was only used in the second team in Cottbus, he joined WSG Swarovski Wattens in 2011 .

For the 2014/15 season, Obernosterer moved to the second team at VfB Stuttgart . A year later he joined SV Elversberg . After two years at the Kaiserlinde, Obernosterer joined league rivals 1. FC Saarbrücken for the 2017/2018 season . There he signed a contract valid until June 30, 2019.

For the 2019/20 season he moved to the fifth-rate Stuttgarter Kickers .

National team

Obernosterer was used in various youth national teams from the U-16s. In total, it has run seventeen times (as of April 2010) for Austria on an international level.

He played his last national team game so far on November 17, 2009 in the 1-0 victory of the Austrian U-20s in a friendly against Italy.
