Markus Philippi

Markus Philippi (born September 30, 1979 in Bensheim ) is a German chef.

Career

After training at the Hotel Bruchsee in Heppenheim , Philippi went to the Gasthaus zum Schwanen in Lorsch in 1999 and then to the Silberberg in the Hotel Traube-Tonbach in Baiersbronn . After serving in the Bundeswehr, in 2001 he moved to the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg with Hans-Peter Engels.

In 2002 he went back to Traube-Tonbach , this time to Harald Wohlfahrt's three-star Schwarzwaldstube restaurant . In 2004 he switched to Vincent Klink in Stuttgart at Wielandshöhe as head chef . In 2008 he became master chef in Heidelberg.

Since May 2008 he has been head chef at the Romantik Hotel Residenz am See in Meersburg , where he has been awarded a Michelin star and 17 Gault Millau points for the Casala restaurant since 2010 .
